The new Ask.com is beautiful… There’s a ’skins’ option under the search box that lets you change the background image of the page. The result is pretty stunning…

But the question is, can you find the forest for the trees when you do a search?

In playing around with it I found their blog search results to be a bit weird… The following result directs you to a page on our site, but you’d never know that by looking at it.

However, I really like their ‘Subscribe’ and ‘Post To’ options which let you subscribe or post to services such as Bloglines, My Earthlink, and curiously Google and Yahoo!.

While Google will continue to be my search engine of choice, it’s nice to see the smaller ones like Ask bringing out interesting features…
