I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw of the 4D Ajax framework at 4D Summit. For certain applications it’s extremely powerful, and the “no code” admin tool is a lot better than you might imagine.

The ‘bridge’ portion of the 4D Ajax framework can be integrated with a variety of other Ajax frameworks. Lee Hinde showed the 4D framework working with jQuery and discussed the issues and challenges this type of programming entails.

Julien and Rudi of 4D, Inc. went in depth on how the 4D Ajax framework works – what the different components are, how they work, and how you should approach Web 2.0 solutions using 4DAF.

Rudi and Joe of 4D, Inc. went over how to develop applications for the iPhone using the 4D Ajax Framework. The sum total is that there are some interesting, but limited things you can do for the iPhone using 4DAF. The capabilities should improve over time.
