Microsoft has announced its web analytics package - Gatineau. But the question is whether they will be as good as Google and the paid services at protecting the privacy of the data.

Google Analytics appears to be down - for nearly two days now. All sorts of different sites show the same pattern - no data since 2 or 3am on the 29th.

Despite what the folks at Google say, establishing a site targeted at another country isn’t as easy as duplicating your site and slapping a country-specific TLD domain on it.

Feedburner was purchased by Google. The fact that Feedburner had recently been promoting how to make sure you control the subscriptions to your feeds (rather than Feedburner controlling them), now makes sense - they knew Google was going to purchase them and that some of their customers may not like Google knowing everything about their feeds.
